1. Remove clutter on bookshelves, fireplace mantles, coffee table, bedrooms and children's rooms, kitchen items and anywhere else photographs will be taen.
  2. Remove personal or family photographs.
  3. Open all window coverings to make rooms appear brighter and larger.
  4. Turn on all lights and replace any burned out bulbs.
  5. Conceal garbage and recycle containers.
  6. Clear kitchen counter tops and remove all pictures, magnets, etc. from refrigerator.
  7. Keep floor coverings to a minimum.
  8. Remove table coverings.
  9. Remove all signs of pets including food/water bowls, pet beds, etc.
  10. Clear bathroom counter tops, lower toilet lids and put out nice towels.
  11. Empty shower or tub of soaps, shampoos, shaving items, caddies, etc.
  12. Hide valuables and medications.


  1. Conceal all trash, yard waster, and recycle bins.
  2. Move vehicles out of driveways. If possible, do not park vehicles directly in front of property.
  3. Make sure hedges, shrubs, lawn, etc. are neat & trimmed and leaves raked.
  4. Conceal garden tools, mowers, etc. and remove or coil hoses.
  5. Remove children's' and pet toys.
  6. Open patio umbrellas and set out cushions.
